AWARDED TITLE III FUNDS
The Oscoda County Board of Commissioners intends to expend a portion of its 2012 Title III grant money, in the amount of $21,800.00 on the following projects, contingent upon the County receipt of the 2012 Title III Funds.

1. $3,500.00 awarded to Montmorency MSU Extension “2012 Firewise Program”. The funds awarded will be used for bulletins, salary for a part-time Firewise Field Assistant, travel and operating expenses. The Firewise Program is to teach techniques and procedures to individuals to help their homes and business survive a wildfire. We have 8,000 to 10,000 wildfires a year in Michigan.

2. $18,300.00 awarded to the Tri-Town Fire Department for the 2012 “Oscoda County Forest Community Suppression Project”, for the purchase of specialized equipment within the recently built “Fire Breaks” located around these forest communities to save lives, property, and cost.
