is my local unit?
Your local unit is the township that your property is located in. There
are 6 townships in Oscoda County. (Big Creek, Clinton, Comins, Elmer,
Greenwood & Mentor)
What
is my parcel number or property identification number?
You can get your number from a tax bill or call your local unit’s
treasurer or assessor.
Where
is my parcel located?
If you provide a parcel number, we can tell you which township you are
in as well as the properties town & range & section. We can
also tell you what subdivision your property is in if applicable.
When
are property taxes sent out?
Summer taxes are sent out July 1 and Winter taxes are sent out December
1st.
When
are taxes due?
Summer taxes are due by September 14th without interest. Winter taxes
are due by February 14th without penalty. All taxes become delinquent
to the County Treasurer on March 1 with additional penalties and interest.
What
should I do if I don’t receive a tax bill?
Contact your local unit for current tax information, except for Big
Creek and Elmer current summer tax, then you should contact the Oscoda
County Treasurers office.
Can
taxes be paid with a personal check?
Yes, unless the taxes have gone to tax sale or are going to be foreclosed
within the next 6 weeks. They would then require certified funds such
as cashier’s check, money order or cash. Checks for delinquent
taxes should be made payable to Oscoda County Treasurer.

Can Taxes be paid for with a Credit Card?
Yes, Oscoda County Treasurer contracts with "Government Payment Services" for Credit Card payment of taxes. Contact the Treasurer's Office for details.
How
much do I owe for delinquent taxes?
By providing your 11 digit parcel number, you can call the county treasurers
office at 989-826-1113 to receive tax information.
Can
I make payments on my delinquent taxes?
Yes, on taxes that have not gone to the tax sale. It is encouraged that
you make payments if you have delinquent taxes and cannot pay them all
at once. This will help you from paying more interest on unpaid amounts.
What
are your office hours?
8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.
Do
you have a list of parcels being sold?
Parcels available for sale at the tax sale will be listed on the website
www.title-check.com sometime after July following foreclosure in April.
A printout of the parcels will be available at the Treasurers office.
Who
owns a particular property?
Please refer to the local unit which the property is located.
How
was the assessed value of my property determined?
You must contact your local township assessor for this information.
Where
do I make an address change?
Changes of address should be made to the County Treasurer, County Equalization
Dept. and local Treasurer.
